Paradox lore and story
An editorial guide to Paradox's background, motive for entering the Ritual, and possible wish from a Patron.
Who is Paradox?
Paradox. An artifact of time, and the name of a notorious thieves' guild... one that prides themselves on constructing elaborate heists that target the most untouchable of individuals and institutions. What does Paradox do with the countless artifacts, state secrets, and celebrity paternity tests that they have stolen? Put it on display at pop-up museums, so that they can show the world that no one is out of Paradox’s reach. Shrouded in mystery, each member of Paradox dons a mask and takes on the organization's name. They are everywhere. They are nowhere. And if they want something, they are inevitable.
Paradox enters a Ritual in which six heroes aid a Patron against its rival. Victory matters beyond the match: the successful Patron can offer each ally a wish, turning every combatant's private motive into part of the city's larger occult crisis.
What would Paradox wish for?
The Paradox Guild's agenda matters more than a clearly stated personal wish. Her participation appears connected to the Guild's pursuit of impossible events and controlled disruption.

Paradox's story connects a personal problem to the larger struggle over the Amber Hand and Sapphire Flame. Manipulating time lets Paradox outpace an enemy in one on one combat. She thrives by subjecting her enemies to timely swaps into a waiting pulse grenade, her wall, or into the middle of her teammates. is the gameplay expression; the lore asks what someone with that temperament would risk for a single supernatural bargain.
The Patron bargain makes this motive important: a wish is not simply a reward, but a test of what Paradox values and what price they may accept when an elder power controls the terms.
